What should you expect at Maitland Evangelical Church? We meet each Sunday at 10am and 5pm. Visitors are always welcome. If you have further questions, feel free to contact us. Feel free to stay around afterwards for free refreshments, or leave as soon as you would like. Expect church to go for around 75 to 90 minutes. We do not expect visitors to give – we are grateful to have you as our guests. This is entirely voluntary. It may sound unusual, but Christians actually enjoy giving money, so we do provide other ways for regular attenders to give anonymously. We do not ask visitors for money. There is no offering. Expect NO offering to be collected. listen or join in as you would like. Some may be unfamiliar at first, so feel free to. We sing a variety of songs. We have great news to sing about. Christians tend to sing more than many Australians. Expect singing. Feel free to listen, and ask any questions you have afterwards. Reading from such an old book might seem odd. Yet the Bible claims to be the very word of God. Throughout history, Christians have seen the truth of this claim and today a growing number of people across the world see the Bible’s relevance as their lives are transformed by its message. Expect the Bible to be read and explained. God made us to know him, and prayer is a big part of our relating to God. We usually have one or two people lead us by praying out loud while the rest of us listen and pray silently. Most people feel a need to pray at some time in their life. Expect prayer. We welcome both children and adults. It is impacting people across a wide variety of cultures today. The Christian gospel is relevant to all ages and cultures. Expect to see people of a variety of ages and backgrounds. Whatever your preference, we hope you will feel respected and warmly welcomed.
